 Xtreme Kidz

Therefore I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing praises to your name.  2 Samuel 22:50

Welcome back! We are back for another year of X-Treme Kidz and what a wonderful start it has been. Our X-treme Life “Back in Action” party was a success and how wonderful it was to see so many people from the church come out in support of our Thursday evening programs. The kids really had fun and of course we adults had a great (if not cold) time too.

We are starting out our lessons by returning to some of the basics. We are learning that life is an expedition and just like on any expedition, we need to have some essentials to take with us on our way. So far we learned that in our expedition of life, our Bible is our guidebook. We need to have it with us and refer to it often. Our bible will light our paths and help us to know where to go and which road to follow.

We then learned that worship is to our spiritual life as oxygen is to our bodies. We need it. We learned that worship isn’t about God’s ego; it is about our connection with God and putting ourselves in the right frame of mind. Worship is giving God all the glory for our lives. Over the next few weeks we will also learn about prayer, and our relationships, with God, our leaders, and with each other.

A huge thank you goes out to all those that have donated money and items for prizes. The kids really look forward to getting prizes and the bible bucks are becoming a huge success.

We will have a trunk-or-treat this year. It will be on Friday, October 29th, from 7:00-9:00. We are hoping this will be a huge success. We will have our trunks decorated outside for trick-or-treating and then our little guests can come inside to play musical chairs with a pumpkin and take their own pumpkin to decorate, play bobbing for apples and then take their apple and make a caramel apple, and end their evening with a faith based Halloween story.   Please come out with your ghoulishly decorated trunk. We look forward to seeing all of you there.

In Christ,
